Three new subdivisions are planned for the North West which will deliver 117 new social and affordable housing lots in 2022.

The Tasmanian Government is committed to increasing social and affordable housing and releasing land for residential development.

North west coasters can make their dream of home ownership a reality with around 90 per cent of new lots to be available for affordable home purchase under the Tasmanian Government’s HomeShare program.

HomeShare assists eligible Tasmanians buy their own homes.

These subdivisions are contributing to the Tasmanian Government’s commitment under the Affordable Housing Strategy 2015-2025, to release a total of 670 lots of land.

About each subdivision

Bowick Street has been recently purchased with plans to subdivide for development.It has capacity for 36 residential lots.

Infrastructure construction is planned to start in January 2022 subject to planning approval.

Lots will be available for purchase from June 2022.

Kentish Drive, Shorewell Park, is a historical partially constructed subdivision that has been held in the Director of Housing’s landbank to meet increasing demand.

It has capacity for 49 residential lots.Construction in Kentish Drive is scheduled to start in December 2021.

Information Session for Wynyard Subdivisions

An information session will be held at the Wynyard Bowls Club about new subdivisions, with most of the 68 lots planned for affordable home purchase.

You are welcome to pop-in for a chat with one of the team between 9.00 am – 12.30 pm on Thursday, 23 September 2021.
