Assistance into Affordable Private Rentals
COVID-19 Rent Relief Scheme
The Tasmanian Government is providing rent relief for residential households who rent homes in the private market and who are experiencing housing stress because of the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
The scheme has been extended until 31 March 2021.
Tenants can apply for rent relief by completing the Application for Rental Relief form
Use this form if this your first time applying for rent relief.

COVID-19 Rent Relief Extra Support Scheme
The Tasmanian Government is extending support to Tasmanian tenants by providing a second, third and fourth round of financial help for residential tenants who are experiencing rental hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Residential tenants who have previously received financial help to pay their rent, can now apply for a fourth rental extra support payment using the Application for Residential Relief Extra Support form

COVID-19 Landlord Support Scheme
The Tasmanian Government has established the COVID-19 Landlord Support Fund to provide financial support to landlords who are experiencing financial hardship due to tenants being behind in paying rent.
A second and third round of financial support is available for landlords who can apply to the Landlord Extra Support Fund. The financial value of the Extra Support payment is up to a further $2 000 each payment per landlord.
The fund started on 7 September 2020 and is available through to 31 March 2021.
Landlords can apply for Landlord Support by completing the Application for Landlord Support Fund form
