Tasmanian Government COVID-19 Rent Relief Scheme

The Tasmanian Government is providing rent relief for residential households who rent homes in the private market and who are experiencing housing stress because of the impacts of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

The scheme starts on 25 May 2020.

The Application for Rental Relief form is now available.

Finding an affordable private rental home is a significant issue for many low income Tasmanians.  Housing Connect can help make it easier to find and stay in a private rental home through Private Rental Assistance and Private Rental Incentives.

Private Rental Assistance helps eligible people on low incomes to cover the cost of paying their rent, paying a bond or moving costs in the private rental market.

Private Rental Incentives helps by making more homes available and affordable to eligible people on low incomes.
