Information for GPs and other Health Professionals
People with gambling problems are often slow to seek help. They may have been struggling to control their gambling for years before they are motivated to talk to someone who can help. Problem gambling is also associated with anxiety, stemming from worries over money, relationships and perhaps work difficulties. GPs and health professionals can directly assist – or refer patients to counselling or other help and support at the Gamblers Help services.
