Local Emergency Food Relief - COVID-19 Grants Program

Overview:

The health, safety and wellbeing of Tasmanians is our number one priority as we face the challenge of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Tasmanian Government is helping local emergency food relief organisations which support Tasmanians in need through a small grants program.

Communities, Sport and Recreation (CSR) in the Department of Communities Tasmania will administer the Program in one round.

Eligible Organisations

The Program is open to not-for-profit organisations which provide emergency food relief directly to members of their local community through two categories:

Category 1 – low-cost or free ready-to-eat meals

Category 2 – food hampers

For the purposes of this program, ‘local community’ is considered to be the local government municipal area. It is expected that the majority of people accessing those services live in the municipal area.

Applicants must be incorporated or other legal entity, or auspiced by a not-for-profit legal entity.

Applicants must meet applicable food safety standards. Grant money must be expended within 6 months.
