The Department of Communities Tasmania appropriately manages the giving and receipt of gifts, actions that may result in a benefit to an employee or the Agency and the provision of hospitality to employees to ensure that employee and Agency functions are performed in a fair, transparent, ethical, professional and impartial manner. The Agency’s Gifts, Benefits and Hospitality Procedure outlines how gifts, benefits and hospitality are to be managed and reported.
The Procedure outlines the circumstances under which gifts, benefits and hospitality can be received by an employee. It also provides for maintenance of a Gift Register to record information about gifts that are accepted including when the offer was made, the value of the offer and who was making the offer. Under the Procedure, the Agency will publicly report any gifts, benefits and hospitality received where the value is over $100 or where the cumulative value received from one person or organisation is over $100 in a financial year.
The registers below show gifts, benefits and hospitality that have been received by employees of the Department of Communities Tasmania since 1 July 2018. The registers are updated on a quarterly basis.
